Overwatch 2 - Suravasa

I came on to the Suravasa flashpoint map late in its development. The layout and architecture were already well-established, but it still took a lot of “glue” to fit the pieces together cleanly on such a large map. Valentin Levillain and I spent a few months optimizing, setdressing, and bugfixing, as well as contributing additional models where needed.

Many artists touched this map over it's development. Special thanks to Dan McGowan, Lucas Annunziata, and Peter Lee for their guidance and to Serina Mo and Andrew Menjivar for their many helpful paintovers.

The garden point was originally put together by Dan McGowan. I spent time here refining the plant placements for the final version. I also made the leafy green bushes.

Towards the end of its development this map went through a “tech pass” where Val and I added greebles and neon to archways like this one. I also painted down small meshes like the blades of grass here using our mesh painting system.

Lit archways like this were latecomers to the map.

The temple also got a "tech pass" where I added the metal ornaments to the exterior.

The floor mandala here was originally made by Lucas Annunziata for a different version of this map. Andrew Menjivar and I edited it to fit this space.

Models from this map came from many places. Some color adjustments to the assets in the streets helped unify the palette.

I only made a handful of models for this map- this market stall is one of the larger ones. Concept by Serina Mo.
