Lonely Camper

Older work, from late 2016. The Long Dark is my favorite survival game and for a while I was making stuff in hopes the developers would make it mod-able. Four years and I'm still waiting. Maybe someday, though.

Screenshots are taken in Unity. I tried to match the lighting of the game as closely as possible.

I like the idea of having a guitar in the game that reduces your risk of cabin fever while you're waiting out blizzards indoors. Like other skills in the game its something you'd improve at over time.

The textures were a mixture of handpainting and photo ref combined with Photoshop's cutout and noise filters. I used a custom "scrape" brush and a chalk brush heavily.

Some of my reference. The layout is based on a Prowler 18 RL (for which I found a good blueprint) but I wanted the decor to be more retro, this was meant to look like it's been sitting in someone's backyard for thirty years.
